ICDE Quality Committee
Help us advance quality in inclusive, scalable and sustainable education – nominate candidates from your institution as Focal Points on Quality!

ICDE institutional members are now invited to nominate candidates as Focal Points on Quality from their institution and region. We are also seeking a Committee Chair, who may be self-nominated. The Chair and Focal Points will be formally appointed by the ICDE Board for a period of two years (48 months) from 2025-2027.
What is the ICDE Quality Committee?
The ICDE Quality Committee is an advisory committee which supports ICDE with updated knowledge on quality assurance and quality enhancement of various provisions of education and training across regions. It builds on the previous ICDE Quality Network.
The mandate for the ICDE Quality Committee is aligned with the ICDE Strategic Plan 2025-2028 and the ICDE Activity Plan 2025-2026. The exact activities will be determined by the ICDE Secretariat and the committee Chair through an agreed work plan for the first two-year phase of establishment.
What is expected?
The committee members are expected to have a leading and coordinating role for quality enhancement of open, flexible and distance education within their institutions and regions.
Members are expected to take part in 4-5 virtual meetings per year and to contribute to relevant knowledge products and services for quality assurance and quality enhancement within inclusive, scalable and sustainable education and training. They are also invited to represent at relevant events, including the ICDE World Conference and other international conferences.
The ICDE Secretariat will provide administrative support for virtual meetings and publishing of knowledge products and resources.
Recommended candidate profile
ICDE is searching for candidates who fit the following profile:
- Nominated candidates must have a record and/or a position related to their institution’s work with quality assurance of open, flexible, distance and online provision.
- The candidates should have a leading and coordinating role for quality enhancement of open, flexible and distance education within their respective regions.
- The Chair and committee members should have particular expertise in quality assurance and quality enhancement of various provisions of education, including new formats and technologies such as stackable learning/micro credentials and AI supported assessment.
- Proficient level of both written and spoken English.
The positions of Focal Points and committee Chair are unpaid. However, the appointment provides extra profile to the awarded holder and affiliated institution, expressing ICDE’s interest in their voice on quality, and underlining their reputation.
