ICDE Presidents’ Forum 2020 Summary Report

In November 2020, Presidents, Vice-Chancellors, Principals, and Rectors of higher education providers gathered for the ICDE Presidents’ Forum 2020 to focus discussions on “Recalibrating educational leadership for resilient education”.

  • Summaries from each world region on the task of creating a risk assessment of future challenges for leadership in delivering resilient education, as well as reflections on needs and solutions.
  • Identification of common challenges around the world for institutions shifting to distance learning for the first time

Summary

The 2020 ICDE Presidents’ Forum created a fully virtual forum for global leaders to share, contribute, and discuss those challenges relevant to ensuring we can create quality and resilient education systems long-term globally.

Through this forum, we were able to capture regional differences and nuances in the many challenges and opportunities being faced by OFDL institutions globally. Simultaneously, we were able to identify commonalities that bring us all together in our ultimate goals of creating education opportunities around the globe.
