Get nominated for a UNESCO Prize
As an NGO in consultative partnership with UNESCO, ICDE can endorse or nominate candidates for prestigious UNESCO awards.
2024 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education
The UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education honours outstanding and innovative practices advancing girls’ and women’s education, and in turn, improving the quality of their lives.
Established in 2015, the Prize is funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and consists of two US $50,000 awards to help further the work of laureates in the field.
The Prize directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5.
Who can be nominated?
Individuals, institutions and organizations advancing girls’ and women’s education through an established and ongoing project or programme which has been running for at least 2 years.

Nomination process
The deadline for submission of the online application to UNESCO is 24 May 2024.
To complete the application, candidates must request a nomination letter from an NGO they are a member of. Members of ICDE are encouraged to contact the ICDE Secretariat and make this request by 8 May 2024 to icde@icde.org
