Workshop Consultancy for Training Academic Staff/Teachers
The aim of this service is to train other teachers and academic staff to develop and evaluate Open, Flexible, Distance Learning (OFDL) courses, and to create and integrate blended course materials in their practice using state-of-the art strategies.
Participants will receive a workshop programme facilitated by an expert consultant from the ICDE network.
The workshop builds competency in several key areas including but not limited to:
- Training of academic staff/teachers in analysing, designing, developing, implementing and reviewing blended materials for OFDL
- The ability to incorporate AI applications for education and manage resources in multiple media
- Facilitate blended and life-long learning courses with asynchronous online/off-line material and assessment
- Integrate open education resources (OER) in off-line and online components
- Course development and evaluation to ensure continuous quality assurance
The workshop can occur remotely or on-site. The exact length and content of the workshop can be customised to meet the group’s needs, including the level of additional support in the pre-workshop phase, and implementation phase following the workshop. ICDE will issue certificates for successful completion of the workshop.
ICDE Quality Review Service
The ICDE Quality Review Service (QRS) provides member institutions with the opportunity to undertake an independent, external peer-review of the service provided to their students. The focus for the QRS is the enhancement of the quality of student support.
The review is conducted in the spirit of academic peer review by a Review team contracted by ICDE chosen from the ICDE membership, but with independent judgement. This service is open to all ICDE institutional members and requires payment of an additional fee.
The scope and themes covered in the review are agreed between the review team and the institution, and can be tailored to your institution’s needs. The review team deliverables include a verbal report to the facility’s management, and a written report in consultation with the institution.
A certificate of completion of the ICDE Quality Review will be issued based on satisfactory findings in the report and proposed action plan, and the ICDE Board’s approval.
