The 29th ICDE World Conference 2023 will take place in San José, Costa Rica from 6-10 November 2023. It will be hosted by ICDE Institutional member, UNED Costa Rica.
Group Discounts:
The 29th ICDE World Conference 2023 is offering group discounts, so prepare your group for an unforgettable conference and apply for special prices.
- 5 to 9 persons: 5% discount
- 10 to 19 persons: 10% discount
- 20 to 49 persons: 15% discount
- 50 or more persons: 20% discount

ICDE Global Doctoral Consortium Session
We cordially invite doctoral students from around the world to join us at the 29th ICDE World Conference in Costa Rica and take part in the Global Doctoral Consortium session on November 6th. This pre-conference full day event is specifically designed for doctoral and post-graduate students within the field of Open, Flexible and Distance Learning.
The event is free of charge and includes an evening reception for all participants, with the opportunity to meet experts and executives from UNED and the ICDE global community. Accepted participants to the Global Doctoral Consortium will be offered a 50% discount of the conference fee for the full ICDE World Conference.
About the Conference
The ICDE World Conference is widely recognised as the leading international event for Open, Flexible and Distance Education, and normally attracts around 1,000 participants from all over the world. The World Conference offers a forum for the presentation of cutting-edge developments in the field, as well as a platform to directly impact and contribute to future international, regional and national educational policy discussions.
The conference theme in 2023 will be “Joining hands in peace for the Future of Education”. Sub-themes will focus on:

ICDE World Conference Background
The first ICDE World Conference was held in British Columbia, Canada in 1938.
Conference participants represent the research community, teaching staff, students in the OFDL field, management of educational institutions, policy makers, the public sector, media, training companies, relevant professional and international associations, and suppliers from the private sector.
The previous ICDE World Conference was hosted by Dublin City University (DCU) in 2019, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to the ICDE World Conference 2023 in Costa Rica!
