New technology illuminates educational experience for faculty, students

Using open-source plans from Northwestern University, a team of Keck School of Medicine faculty and staff built a user-friendly Lightboard studio to record or live-stream lectures. The large, illuminated glass board can be written on using special grease pens. Unlike traditional whiteboards that require instructors to turn their backs to the audience, the instructor can simply stand behind the glass to write and lecture more naturally. Confusion over MU's distance education's internal assessment process

Mumbai University's Institute of Distance and Open Learning's (IDOL) decision to introduce internal marks for select programmes seems to have backfired. New President of ICDE

In recognition of the immense opportunities offered by a quality education, the world has identified a new Sustainable Development Goal “Education 2030”, which now includes developing the higher education system using new technologies, Open Educational Resources (OER) and distance-education modalities. Since the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is one of the global innovative champions for «Education 2030», its new Executive Committee met in Oslo, Norway on 25-26 January 2016, to elect its President and set the direction for the future.


ICDE member UoC to lead major EU project TeSLA, ICDE connected through the advisory board

ICDE Secretary General, Gard Titlestad will be part of the advisory board of the European Union innovation and research project TeSLA (Adaptive Trust-based e-assessment System for Learning), which within a few years must enable students to be assessed online at the different learning stages.
