Seasons greetings from ICDE

We very much appreciate your engagement with ICDE during 2015, and we look forward to our continued cooperation in 2016.

This year has been a very busy year for open and distance education and for ICDE. Let us take this opportunity to look back at the best of what 2015 brought us to get inspired for 2016!

Major highlights for ICDE in 2015:

  • A joint education policy for all education and all countries, the new Sustainable Development Goal 4 Education 2030: “Towards inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all”. It is the first time the world has such a policy and its Framework for Action includes Online, open and flexible education. Read more
  • Two high level policy forums in Paris and Pretoria – the first organized by UNESCO in partnership with ICDE, and the second organised by ICDE in partnership with UNESCO, Commonwealth of Learning and Open Education Consortium – to influence Education 2030 which was adopted in September.

We have a big agenda lined up for 2016, which of course includes the Presidents’ Summit hosted by Charles Sturt University in Australia on 20-23 November 2016.

With season’s greetings and all the best wishes for a successful 2016!
