The inaugural Open Education Leadership Summit welcomed over 170 delegates to Paris

The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) and the Open Education Consortium with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and the Ministry of National Education and Youth (MENJ) hosted the inaugural Open Education Leadership Summit in Paris on  December 3 – 4, 2018.

170 leaders from over 45 countries countries from all levels of online learning and open education in higher education institutions, senior government officials and organizational leaders joined together in Paris to engage in advocating for and leading adoption of open education.

The Summit was an innovative, interactive event as the attendees actively engaged in hands-on activities, personal networking, and knowledge exchange around open education. Attendees enhanced their own open education efforts in these areas by learning about the latest trends and developments in open education and by engaging in knowledge exchange with peers from around the world.

Personal and regional roadmaps generated show work that is underway and link initiatives together in coordinated ways. Outputs from this event will be used to create a more integrated open education ecosystem and accelerate progress on open education globally and will be made available shortly.

The links to recordings of certain panel sessions, photos, and produced road maps will also be available soon.
