Summary of session:

As open education goes mainstream there are growing opportunities for open education leaders to strategically join forces to leverage the unique opportunities open education brings. The Open Education Leadership Summit brought together open education leaders from around the world to document open education initiatives and combine them in coordinated and collaborative ways. Development of roadmaps for existing local open education initiatives were used as a means to document what is currently happening. Those roadmaps were then used to build regional and global roadmaps that combine efforts in coordinated and collaborative ways.

With a theme of “Achieve More Through Collaboration” the Open Education Leadership Summit brought together over 200 open education leaders from institutions, government, and the open education movement for a two day event December 3-4, 2018 in Paris, France. It was hosted by the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), Open Education Consortium (OEC,) and the Ministry of Higher Education Research and Innovation of France (MESRI). This session reports out on the activities and outputs of that leadership summit.

Join ICDE, OEC and MESRI for this session at OEB2018 and get an understanding of the opportunities collaboration brings open education leaders.
