CODUR project invites you to participate in a consultation workshop
Creating an Online Dimension for University Rankings: What is your contribution for?
The Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the UK Open University (OUUK) and the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ITD) are carrying out the European project CODUR (Creating an Online Dimension for University Rankings).
This project aims to generate a set of European-led quality criteria and indicators for the measurement of worldwide online education dimension, and the guidelines for integrating these online education metrics in some of the current multidimensional university rankings.
CODUR will provide the new online education institutions dimension (set of criteria and indicators) to be integrated in these rankings, and the guidelines to improve the performance of online institutions.
The purpose of this project is not to create a new tool for quality assurance, neither to compete with the existent ones, but to take the best of each to make online education become more visible and reputable in university rankings. The current university rankings not only don’t consider online education characteristics, but harm the reputation of them.
In the framework of the 2017 ICDE World Conference, the CODUR project invites the Delegates interested in this topic and the experts on quality in online education to participate in a 2-hours workshop to get your feedback on the first draft of the criteria and indicators for the abovementioned purpose.
The main purpose of the workshop is to share with a wider audience the intellectual outputs elaborated so far within the project. In particular, it aims to promote debate and exchange about the evaluation of the online dimension within the university ranking systems.
After an introduction to the project, presented by Albert Sangrà (UOC) and Flavio Manganello (CNR-ITD), participants will be provided with the provisional list of the CODUR criteria and indicators, and they will be able to actively contribute and provide their opinions and feedback.
If you are interested in participating, please fill in this registration form and join us on Thursday, 19 October, 8.30 am, at the ICDE Room.
