PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy applies to the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) (registration number NO971286512). Snorre Qveim-Leikanger is the responsible Data Protection Officer.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED?
ICDE does not process sensitive data, but in certain circumstances it will process organization names, name of key contacts, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, invoicing information, and postal addresses. This information is processed to provide membership services to ICDE members, maintain membership registers, facilitate conference participation, distribute newsletters and other day-to-day administrative tasks.

HOW IS PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED?

ICDE obtains personal data via various forms distributed through the ICDE website and newsletters. For example, when applying for ICDE membership or signing up to the ICDE newsletter. It is voluntary to provide information, but certain personal data is crucial to enable ICDE to provide membership services, such as maintaining an updated membership database.

WHY IS PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED?

Personal data is processed to provide membership services, facilitate conferences and maintain a membership registry. As a membership organization the processing of such data is paramount to ICDEs daily and long-term operation.

HOW IS PERSONAL DATA STORED?

Personal data is stored in ICDE’s archive as long as the member is active. Information about physical persons is deleted upon resignation or request. Personal data tied to the distribution of the ICDE newsletter is kept in ICDE’s archives and is deleted on request.

HOW CAN I DELETE MY PERSONAL DATA FROM THE ICDE ARCHIVE?

Deletion of personal data is carried out upon request or resignation. Contact icde@icde.org.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA TO THIRD PARTIES

No data is under any circumstances transferred to a third party, but ICDE may request a certain sub-contractor (such as its database supplier) to process and store personal data strictly on behalf of ICDE.

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?
As a user of ICDE’s services, you have the right to access the personal information ICDE processes about you and how it is processed. You may request deletion, correction and limitation of the processing of the personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Where the processing of personal data is based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

If you believe that ICDE has not complied with your rights under the GDPR, you have the right to appeal to the appropriate supervisory authority. This is done by sending a complaint to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
