ICDE Global Doctoral Consortium
The Global Doctoral Consortium (GDC) is a global initiative supporting doctoral students in the research field related to online, open, flexible and technology enhanced learning. GDC is a virtual network and knowledge hub that supports doctoral students in building relationships, collaborating and sharing research ideas. Furthermore, the GDC provides insight in the research themes selected by its doctoral students and connects to the global scientific journal Open Praxis related to publishing of research papers. Interested? Join over a hundred Ph.D. students from all over the world by signing up for an invitation.
The Doctoral Consortium responds to an identified need for Doctoral Students to facilitate a global exchange of knowledge and experience in the research field of online, open, flexible and technology enhanced learning:
- For doctoral students it is an unprecedented opportunity to broaden their network and exchange knowledge as well as experience in the field.
- For partners and sponsors the initiative is an opportunity to be updated on the latest research trends in the field, collaborate internationally with other institutions, broaden their network, take part in discussions and gain visibility among key partners.
- All GDC doctoral students is offered a free ICDE membership and an invitation to the 2017 ICDE World Conference. A scholarship fund is created to enable doctoral students from all regions to attend high profile events around the globe.
Ph.D. candidates conducting research in the field of online, open, flexible and technology enhanced learning may register to receive an invitation to participate in the Global Doctoral Consortium here. Invitations are issued on a weekly basis.
The GDC is an ICDE led collaboration between Asia eUniversity (Malaysia), Charles Sturt University (Australia), Contact North | Contact Nord (Canada), HBMSU – Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (United Arab Emirates), Lillehammer University College (Norway), UNISA - University of South Africa (South Africa) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain).
