Project plan and objectives

The project sought to:

  1. Study and map quality approaches and methods and link them to OEP in order to provide Guidelines for Quality and Innovation
  2. Launch the European Consultative Group for Quality and Innovation to form a multi-stakeholder validation environment, and contribute a chapter on quality and innovation to existing international networks
  3. Establish the EU Open Educational Quality Clearinghouse in which peer-reviewed OER will be linked with OEP. This body will serve as a register for organizations which want to join the European Charter for Quality and Innovation
  4. Launch a European Award for Innovation and Quality through OER for both higher education and adult education

Key objectives were:

  • To contribute to the development of quality lifelong learning
  • To help improve the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of the opportunities for lifelong learning
  • To reinforce the contribution of lifelong learning to social cohesion
  • To contribute to increased participation in lifelong learning by people of all ages
  • To support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, pedagogies and practices
  • To promote co-operation in quality assurance in all sectors of education and training
  • To identify outstanding open educational practices, products and processes through self-assessment and peer-review, and ensure availability
