ICDE Annual Report 2009

ICDE is pleased to publish its Annual Report and audited accounts for 2009. Feedback and comments are invited through the ICDE Message Board facility.

 

Key areas covered by the report include: 

  • Publication of the ICDE strategic plan and activity plan
  • Work to influence attitudes to distance education internationally through lobbying at the UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education.
  • Important conclusions for the future direction of distance education at the 23rd ICDE World Conference on Open Learning and Distance Education
  • Assessment of challenges to quality in the context of the financial crisis, and recommendations for distance education institutions at the 2009 ICDE Standing Conference of Presidents
  • Exposure for issues affecting distance education and initiatives from the worldwide distance education community, including through the new ICDE website
  • Planning for projects which will provide added value to member institutions during the period of the strategic plan and beyond
  • Considerable structural improvements within ICDE’s Secretariat and greater dynamism and strategic progress within the organization
