The conference, From Access to Success: Closing the Knowledge Divide (Higher education for under-represented groups in the market economy), will re-examine the role of HEIs in a knowledge-based economy; assess the impact of a market-oriented HE on underrepresented groups when students are regarded as 'clients'; discuss the funding mechanisms for the entrepreneurial university and how these might affect institutional autonomy, efficiency and quality; explore the potential of new technologies in widening access.

There will be also be conference debate on the motion: "An Enterprise Culture is NO Threat to Equity in Higher Education"
