Accounts and some key financial figures for 2005

The ICDE Permanent Secretariat is hosted and to a large extent financed by the Norwegian Government. ICDE is a non-profit making organisation, operating under Norwegian financial legislation. In accordance with this legislation, the ICDE accounts are every year audited by a publicly authorised auditing firm. Since the Norwegian Government is granting money to ICDE every year, the annual accounts are subsequently submitted to the Norwegian Government for approval.

The accounts for 2003, 2004 and 2005 have been audited by a publicly authorised auditing firm in Norway. The accounts were subsequently approved by the appropriate office of the Norwegian Government.

Projections have also been made for the years 2006 and 2007.  Some expenditure has already been committed, particularly for 2006, and some income is already guaranteed (e.g. funds from the Norwegian Government and some membership fees).

In considering these financial statements, there is one very significant statement that must be borne in mind and this is the fluctuation of exchange rates and the fluctuating income regarding projects, which explains the decrease in 2005. On the other hand, in 2004 we decided to move to smaller premises to cutback on rental expenses which is also reflected on the accounts.
