The World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR) is a bienniel global forum initiated by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), which was formed with the support of UNESCO.
WITFOR is organised in cooperation with the government of the host country. Next year's forum will be held in New Delhi, India on 16-18 April 2012. The overall theme of the forum is Sustainable Human Development. The forum will focus on four key areas: Agriculture, Education, Health and E-Governance. Organised in partnership with the Department of Information Technology, Government of India, WITFOR 2012 will provide a opportunity for sharing knowledge on mobilising ICT for change, among a diverse range of professionals and across countries with different development conditions.
Call for papers
The Education Commission of the WITFOR 2012 invites contributions on the following themes:
- Education for All
- Open & Distance Learning
- Open Educational Resources
- Best practices in ICT-enhanced Education
Contributions are welcomed in the form of an extended abstract (250 – 300 words) before 20 December 2012.
Alain Senteni, Dean of the School of e-Education at ICDE member institution Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University is the Chair of the Education Commission of WITFOR while Asha Kanwar, Vice-President of ICDE member institution, the Commonwealth of Learning is Vice-Chair.
