An organization which meets the following definition is eligible to apply for Associate membership of ICDE:
A non-governmental, not-for-profit membership organization for institutions and individuals engaged in or associated with education and training, which promotes dialogue, networking and the exchange of ideas, but which is not engaged primarily in the production or marketing of educational courses or products.
Associate membership is free of charge, though applying organizations must be prepared to provide references to confirm the good standing of the organization in the educational environment in their country or region.
Associate membership status does not permit taking part in the governance of ICDE, but brings benefits including the following:
- Invitations to play a role in ICDE task forces and projects, and the opportunity to make regional perspectives heard in international debate
- The opportunity to launch activities and events in partnership with ICDE, including ICDE International conferences
- Promoting and enabling links between the organization’s members and ICDE members
- The dissemination of news to, and the opportunity to gain input to projects and initiatives from a global audience through the ICDE website and newsletter service
- Profiling of the organization under a dedicated Associate member section of the ICDE website
- Sharing knowledge about the good standing of institutions
- Discounted rates for Secretariat and Executive Committee members at ICDE events
To apply for Associate membership of ICDE, a letter of application should be addressed to the ICDE Executive Committee setting out the following:
- A description of the applying organization including details of geographical area and educational sectors in which it operates, the structure of the organization, membership and activities
- The website address of the organization
- Links to existing ICDE members or historical links to ICDE
- The motivation for applying for Associate membership of ICDE
The application should be sent by e-mail to the ICDE Secretariat.
Please note that admittance to the membership of ICDE is at the discretion of the ICDE Executive Committee.
