Nominations were invited from ICDE members and the winners were selected by an independent jury
The Prize of Excellence is presented for attainment of the highest possible excellence in the fields of open, distance, virtual, and flexible learning.
The Individual Prize of Excellence was awarded to Professor Asha Kanwar (left).
The Institutional Prize of Excellence was awarded to Shanghai TV University, China, in recognition of the University’s innovation and leadership in open and distance education in China.
The Prize for Lifelong Contribution to the Field was awarded to Dr. Gary E. Miller.
A further presentation was made to Fred Nickolmann of FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany, for many years of service to ICDE.
