UNESCO's regional ICT guide

UNESCO’s Bangkok Office has recently released a regional guide on ICT in education, entitled ICT Transforming Education: A Regional Guide. The new publication is aimed at teachers, teacher educators, heads of schools and ICT coordinators in the Asia-Pacific region.

This Regional Guide contains a pool of knowledge that UNESCO’s Bangkok Office has gained from almost 20 ICT in education projects implemented in the region. Short 'snapshots' written by teachers and teacher educators are included to show how ICT are being used to transform education practice.

Published within the framework of UNESCO’s project on ICT in Education implemented by the Bangkok Office, the print version is targeting those teachers and teacher educators in developing countries who cannot access Internet regularly. An online learning portal has been created for people with Internet access. The ICT in Education project has strengthened more than 40 teacher education institutions to act as local resource-distributing and training centers.
