Prof. Pradhan was the Director of School of Social Sciences (SOSS) of IGNOU since 2010. He joined IGNOU in 1993 as a Reader in Economics and became a Professor in 1998.
He has also served as a Post Doctoral Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Asian Development Studies at Boston University in USA, Post Doctoral Fellow at the Concordia University under Shastri Indo-Canadian Faculty Research programme, and a Visiting Fellow for Sustainable Forest Management at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in New Delhi.
He received his master’s and doctoral degrees in Economics from Odisha’s Sambalpur University. His areas of specializations are Development Economics, Industrial Economics, Public Economics and Quantitative Economics. He published several research papers in international and national journals including the Environmental and Resource Economics, Economic and Political Weekly, Indian Journal of Labour Economics, and Lucknow and Orissa Economic.
