ICDE launch new website

ICDE launch a new website which aims to be both an authoritative reference tool and a virtual meeting place for all sections of the open and distance education community.

Three main entry points have been established: Forum is both a virtual meeting place and a source of information about physical meetings; Context describes the world of open and distance education; and Resources contains information on developments within the field.

 

The Forum section includes a global conference calendar with an overview of physical meetings related to the field. A Message board will be established allowing ICDE members and other interested parties to seek advice, post news from their institutions and research projects, and enter into dialogue. ICDE will also use the Video library section to publish clips from conferences and meetings. The first to be posted is an introduction to the 24th ICDE World Conference in Bali, Indonesia.

Context is a section designed to provide information on the key international actors, regionally, nationally and at institutional level in open and distance education.

Through Resources, website users are able to link to information on important publications; journals, handbooks and reports, as well as papers and abstracts from ICDE conferences.

Information about ICDE’s aims, organization and activities can be found under About, at the top right-hand side, while ICDE members may log in to the Extranet to view membership lists and other internal documentation using the login and password details previously provided.
