Education 2011-2021 Summit: call for papers

The Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia (ODLAA) and distance education research consortium DEHub have launched a call for papers and submissions which reflect the central theme of their Education 2011-2021 Summit, Global challenges and perspectives of blended and distance learning.

To be held 15-18 February, 2011, in Sydney, Australia, the Education 2011-2021 Summit presents an opportunity for Australian and international researchers, practitioners, students, industry experts and government to come together to debate global research, practice and professional issues.

ODLAA and DEHub, aim to bring together colleagues globally who are engaged in pedagogical research to work together collaboratively to address key issues. 

Call for papers and submissions 

Colleagues are invited to participate by contributing full papers, research notes, posters, workshops and plenary sessions to the Summit with a focus on the three sub-themes that underpin the DEHub objectives.

  • Research and Development
  • Community and Open Learning
  • Learning and Teaching

Within these themes possible topic areas for focus and consideration can be found on the themes page of the website.

The deadline for the submission of full papers has been extended to 25 September 2010
Posters, Workshops, Research notes and plenary panel proposals should also be submitted by 25 September 2010.  

Keynote speakers presenting at the summit include:

  • Diana Laurillard, Chair of Learning with Digital Technologies in the Faculty of Culture and Pedagogy with the London Knowledge Lab, UK.
  • Mohamed Ally, Director of the Centre for Distance Education and Professor in Distance Education, Athabasca University, Canada
  • Gráinne Conole, Professor of E-Learning in the Institute of Educational Technology, Open University, UK.
