COL-UNESCO Initiative on OER

UNESCO and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) are organizing a series of three online discussion forums on aspects of Open Educational Resources. This is part of a joint COL-UNESCO initiative entitled, 'Taking OER beyond the OER Community: Policy and Capacity'. A summary of the first forum has now been published.

 

This initiative is aiming to expand understanding of OER by educational decision makers and quality assurance experts in order to promote the wider use of OER.

The first forum was held 23–29 September 2010 and was entitled Taking OER beyond the OER Community: Policy and Capacity. The issues highlighted by the discussions have now been summarized and published online. This was followed by a forum focusing on What works, what does not and under what conditions? held 20–26 October 2010.

Interested parties are invited to participate in the remaining online discussion forum on 10–16 November, entitled, Copyright and the development and re-use of OERs
