In order to help persuade the world of the tremendous potential of open and distance learning, ICDE is beginning work on a project to develop international web-based data on the use of open and distance education. This will build on a model developed by ICDE member, the Brazilian Association for Distance Education (ABED), which has recently launched its fourth annual statistical yearbook of distance learning in Brazil.
